Images may be captured during events organised and hosted by Sanctuary using film photography, digital photography, video or other medium and may be used on this website, brochures, other publicity material (such as internal and external newsletters), and may be provided to the media for publication in local or national newspapers.

Sanctuary acknowledges its responsibilities in capturing images by photography or other means under the provisions of the following legislation.

The Protection of Children Act 1978: We recognises that it is a criminal offence to take, permit to be taken, distribute, have in one’s possession or publish indecent photographs (including films and other imagery) of children.

The Human Rights Act 1998: We recognise an individual’s rights to privacy as protected by this Act.

The Data Protection Act 1998: We undertake to inform all those whose images may be recorded (or their parents/guardians if under 18 years of age) of the purposes for which the images may be used by us. Sanctuary informs all persons taking part in Sanctuary activities that they may be photographed, filmed, videoed or otherwise captured in image form. Where possible and practical to do so Sanctuary seeks written consent to image capture. Where this is not possible for practical reasons, unless express objections are received, individuals attending a Sanctuary event are deemed to have given their consent by attending or remaining at the event. Any queries or complaints should be raised with the event host in the first instance.

Sanctuary covers all companies which fall within the Sanctuary Group. You can find out more information about which companies are in the group at our website. In general, you can visit Sanctuary without giving us any information, and we don’t know who you are. If you are one of our anonymous visitors, please bear in mind that we may still:

  • Record the areas of the website which you visit
  • Collect information about your computer, such as which browser you are using, your network location, the type of connection you are using (e.g. broadband, ADSL etc).

We do this by using Cookies, but we can’t tell who you are.

However, additional services may be available if you register with Sanctuary. In this case, once you register, we will know who you are, your activities on our website and information about your computer may be linked on our systems to you.

Phishing is the name given to attempts to steal personal details and financial account details from a website user. “Phishers” use fake or “spoof” emails to lead users to counterfeit websites where the user is tricked into entering their personal details, such as credit card numbers, user names and passwords. WE WILL NEVER SEND EMAILS ASKING YOU FOR SUCH DETAILS AND OUR STAFF WILL NEVER ASK YOU FOR YOUR PASSWORD.

In completing our job application form or submitting your CV to us by email, you will give us personal information about yourself.

We will use your personal data only for the purpose of assessing your suitability for employment by us and in any subsequent interviewing process. Copies of the information you submit and any further correspondence will be retained in order to progress your job application and as a record of our employment and fair access processes.

When you apply for a job with Sanctuary the application will be processed by the relevant office of Sanctuary at which you are applying to work.

We take all reasonable steps to retain personal information only for as long as we need to process your job application. We may also retain your details after a decision has been reached regarding your suitability for current jobs for vacancies that may become available in the future.
